Laura's Word

I never used to be able to write my thoughts, or express my views, or to use my voice for anything.

I learnt at a young age that I was meant to be seen and not heard, and that even if I had something to say that I felt was really important, it would be best left unsaid and so I kept really quiet and to myself for most of my life.

As I got older and wiser, I started to realise that stifling your own expression is never healthy nor advised. There is always a way that you can voice your thoughts, your feelings, your emotions, your viewpoint in a way that does not have a tumultuous impact on those that hear it.

You just have to find it, and then nurture it as you improve it.
